What we learned.

When starting this project, we knew nothing about the Cuban Missile Crisis. When hearing the words "Cuban Missile Crisis"  we thought of a long, drawn out war, but after completing the project we learned that it only lasted 13 days. We found it amazing that a short-lived event could make such a big impact on history. As far as the actual event goes, we have formed our own opinion. We believe that the two countries handled the situation rather well. Granted, they did go to extreme measures when jumping to the use of missiles, but we thought they acted in a non-violent manner by not firing any missiles. We think that they made a correct choice by debating the issues before taking drastic measures. Had they decided to fire the missiles the entire world could have been affected by the resulting nuclear war.
